Have fun creating Sugar Skulls in appreciation of the Dia de Los Muertos cultural celebration. Join mosaic artist David Jarvinen as he hosts a Sugar Skull mosaic workshop, a captivating piece that combines artistry and cultural symbolism. Our project is a 6″ x 6″ square and comes with an embossed skull design to stimulate creativity. Perfect for hobbyists and art enthusiasts alike, this Sugar Skull mosaic adds a touch of flair and cultural significance to any environment. The combination of the sugar skull motif and the materials encapsulates the rich traditions and celebratory nature of Dia de los Muertos.

Limited seating. This class takes place outside and works through lunch so bring snacks and beverages.

Halloween Spooktacular

Come out for the 6th Annual Halloween Spooktacular at Mariners Park! This free community event includes LIVE music, a trunk-or-treat area, a haunted walk-through, carnival games, bounce houses, costume contests, food trucks, and fun for the whole family! Food will be available for purchase, and proceeds will benefit our neighbors at Mariners Elementary PTA to support their school.

Come to Ocean Institute for Spooky Seas with new family-friendly frights from bioluminescence laser tag to the mad scientist laboratory. There’s something fun for the whole family to enjoy! Bats & ghouls – come in costume to participate in our costume contest, trick or treat throughout the night, and enjoy food, drinks, and alcoholic drinks available for purchase.

Spooky Treat Trolley

The Spooky Treat Trolley will be making stops at the following park locations and handing out treats for children up to 12 years of age. The trolley features elaborate decorations, Halloween-themed music, and the City’s Recreation staff dressed up in costumes. Get in the SPIRIT and come dressed in costume!.

Haunted Trails is back again for another year of terrifying thrills! You are invited to join us on the trail for four memorable nights that are sure to haunt your dreams. Our undead monsters are eagerly awaiting your arrival.

One-Time Only Entrance Tickets will be available for purchase beginning Tuesday, September 13th at Crown Valley Community Center during normal operating hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. You may also purchase tickets on event days. You must present a physical ticket to enter the trail. Not recommended for children under 10 years old.

Fall-O-Ween at Heritage Hill Historical Park

Come celebrate the fall season with OC Parks at the inaugural Fall-O-Ween at Heritage Hill Historical Park! Tour the decorated historical grounds during special park hours and take your picture at a variety of fall and Halloween-themed photo opportunities. Try to find your way through the straw maze and complete a scavenger hunt for ghoulish goodies at this free, family-friendly event.

Costumes are encouraged, and pets are welcome on leashes no longer than 6 feet. Be sure to grab your cameras to snap your festive photos with OC Parks this October!

Ghosts and Legends Tour

Get in the spirit of Halloween by joining the Historical Society Walking Tour Guides on a spooky walking tour of Los Rios Street, the oldest residential neighborhood in California. Be prepared for creepy tales of big black dogs, strange monks who have lost their heads, and ghostly tales about a lady in white who have all been seen in this area.
